The purple thing in the garden is bursting into full flower - it's glorious. Its proper name is Tibouchina, I think it's from Mexico or somewhere equally exotic. It flowers twice a year in spring and autumn and has big bold rich deep purple blooms; each morning it waves me off to work and welcomes me when I come home. In a few weeks the flowers will be gone for another six months.....but while they are so lovely I will enjoy them.
