It occurs to me that in my school district, this could count as a fine professional development opportunity! How soon would one be able to find out about workshops being offered? If I can find one that would justify the travel, I might be able to convince the powers that be to let me go!
They let one colleague go to Minneapolis for a Kodaly conference, after all!
So what might be offered that would professionally benefit an elementary music teacher with a ukulele band, a "multicultural curriculum", a children's chorus, and a personal affinity for anglo concertina, harmony singing, and good times?
