I am re-opening this old thread as it relates to another posting that I made tonight.
When I was a baby my mother would sing to me.............nothing strange about that. However instead of lullabies she found that I would shut my yap much quicker if she sang the old train disaster ballads.
Therefore, my lullabies were songs like the Wreck Of The Old 97, Number 9, and Jim Blake.
Today, after attending a funeral , I sang "The Wreck of The Old '97" at a concert and afterwards I was thinking about having never learned this song, as in my memory it was always there. When I pass away, perhaps someone will sing it once again for me.
