Remember, though, if people write about their lives, there's often going to be some hostility incident toward a former mate to be written. If it's directed toward an individual it's just a story. If it targets a whole gender or seems to lead to or promote violence, I'd think we'd all be offended by it. (But sometimes a little sense of humor is called for.) I have often been amazed though by intelligent individuals who are very sensitive about one kind of prejudice but have no problem with another. There is no virtue in taking an interest in only your own, or your own group's, feelings. All people of good faith deserve everybody's vigilance and respect.
