I appreciate that you've spent time in Chicago, but having had over 120 years of family roots here, downstate Illinois and Chicago are world's apart. Once you get 100 miles out of Chicago, the mid-western twang kicks in, country music is on just about every radio station (not a bad thing!) and they have no idea what an Italian beef sandwich is ( not a good thing). The most ethnic a restaurant gets is Pizza Hut and for sure you never run into a Jew like me!
