It's not the rich or the poor,for to know a man's wealth
you must first know the state,of his conscience and health
It's not the humble and proud,for in lifes little span
For he who is vain-glorious is scarcely a man

Not the happy or sad,for in lifes fleeting years
Brings each man his happiness,and each man his tears
But the two kind of people,on earth that I mean
Are the people who lift, and the people who lean

Yes there are just two kind of people on earth today
Just two kind of people no more I will say
And oddly enough,and its true I wean
There is only one lifter for the twenty who lean
