I've successfully brought many a 2-litre bottle of 3-star Metaxas well wrapped in beach towel and beach mat back from Greece in a soft holdall in the aircraft hold. With a 5-kilo limit on cabin luggage, it seemed sensible to keep that for cameras , valuables etc.
