Ha! Ha! Ha! Omigod! Gasp! John Prine is a rather good songwriter, if a bit rustic. He has the common touch. Some of his songs are a pure delight to either play or listen to. But he can't touch Bob Dylan as a songwriter. You want to get into some serious competition, bring up Leonard Cohen or Joni Mitchell. They come close.
