Unfortunately today's whistleblower no longer has the backing of a non-partisan Gov't to look into things. All too often the Gov't is who the whistle blower is tattling on. You can count on your gov't to come down on them like a ton of bricks, discrediting the source rather than satisfactorily explaining the issues raised. And forget corporate whistleblowers. Unless they bring out enough evidence of their own, Uncle Sam will back the corporation 100%. Even if they do they might be brought up on charges of stealing from the Co. or disclosing sensitive documents.
