Sarah - the total wattage (power) available to the beatles in their heyday would have been around 300 (backline and PA together). Today, a band PA of 10,000 watts is commonplace and stadium gigs would have upwards of 100,000 watts. Can't compare '64 with '04. Technology-wise, and also chronologically, they're in different centuries. That's progress (or is it? Maybe there's a new thread there????).
