At my little country church (UCC) the "hymn sing" hymns run along these lines:
Abide with me
I come to the garden alone
I serve a risen savior (he lives!)
Rock of ages
Leaning on the everlasting arms

These are some of the old-fashioned classics of US Protestantism!
Some of them have great harmonies, too!
