I wish you had been around when I was back in college, struggling with all those topical writing assignments on the historical significance of such-and-such to so-and-so. Your dedication to (highly creative)legwork and your penchant for incisive irreverence would have been an inspiration, as well as a motivator to eradicate my own habitual laziness and sloppiness. My humble admiration for what you have wrought.
