Yes time indeed does fly, and you hear people of my era say that they remember exactly where they were when they heard that JFK had been assassinated,and when John Lennon was assassinated, well I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news on Radio that Adge had been killed....it was just unbelievable. I was living in Oxfordshire then. Every time I pass the roundabout where the accident occurred I automatically think of him...

Incidentally I once made a pilgrimage to Nailsea to find the Royal Oak where Adge and the Wurzels made some of their recordings. I was sadly disappointed...the beer was fine but the internal walls of the pub had been ripped out to make one large area instead of lots of little rooms, and the place was emblazoned with football posters and big-screen TV. On the pretence of looking for the Ladies I found a staircase and went up to see if there was anything left of the function-room, and I found it, piled high with junk and old furniture.
There was nothing in the pub to associate it with Adge Cutler and The Wurzels.
