I know it's a bit of an outsiders question, me being new and all, but Why?

I guess it's for a thesis or book but why the interest in death as reflected by songs in popular culture?

For example, you could have chosen birth or marriage or anything. Go on, I'm intrigued.

My suggestion is "if you see me comin', better step aside.
Other men did and so other men died" Pretty straightforward.
