Just a musical thought...

The problem is that any note (or passage of notes) may be

1) fundamental to the key

2) a passing note (and thus not necessarily in the key).

2) seems easy, you probably wouldn't be having chords tied to passing notes (Musically Theoreticaly anyway - Classic Music theory, - 12 tone and 'Modern Music' has different theory), that's why they are called "passing notes". In the theory, they are 'outside' of the basic key of the piece. But Pop Guitar music has 'chord runs' generated by running a barre chord up or down the frets, this is an answer as to why you would want chords tied to such 'theoretically' passing notes.

1) is problematical.

Is the note being changed because it was entered wrongly, and the chord related to it generated thus 'wrong for the key'? In such a case, the automatic recalculation of the chord would be desirable.

If that is not the case, why are you wanting to change it? If you want to change them to other notes that are 'in the key' already, why would the already generated chord need to be changed, unless you are doing a 'change to related minor' sort of change.
