Religious riots have broken out on Alpha Centauri. The worshippers at St Lonnie's (Eskiffelpalians)celebrating the Feast of St Beryl Bryden by the Procession of the Holy Washboard clashed with white robed Zimmermen of the First Church of Dylan chanting their mantra "Lay Lady Lay" at the shrine of the 2Oth incarnation of Guru Little Hawk which was on the route. The Parades Commission had agreed the route but zealots on each side are believed to have shouted insults and violence erupted.
A peaceful silent protest by Leadbellians and Guthrians , who claim both sects are heresies from the true Way was largely ignored by the press.

Sadly, the last Mudcat in an aquarium has died of old age. Mudcats were extinct in the wild many centuries a go because of pollution but a few captive examples had been kept by cloning but,sadly, a computer failure led to a tank overheating and the sole example, called "Max" by staff finally floated to the surface.
