Brett, if you can't find anything for beginning fiddle, let me know and I'll check in with the good folks at Vermont Violins and see what can come your way. Just keep the bow nice and paralel to the bridge, adjust the angle so that it sounds reasonable,let the bow's own weight do the work and just play open strings rhythmically for a while to get a tone you like.   Then try string crossings to get used to the angle change, then start working in fingering. (the advice of someone who learned all of this stuff some 30 mumble mumble years ago.)

Is the fiddle not holding its tune, or does it seem to dislike humidity?    I wonder if they make fiddle case dehumidifiers?
