He's constantly carping about these birthday threads and the fact that they all say the same thing. Hence, just to appease him, it has become my job to be sure something besides the usual HB greeting is said.

'Course now, Ol' Joe will be around and say that's not true and Happy Birthday Max and all of that crappola. You know, generally kissing your skinny ass. Geeiz Max, you really created a monster with Joe.   I mean have you ever seen the terrible things he says to poor Shambles? Poor Sham has to write 97 pages to try and explain and even then Joe doesn't understand. Come to think of it, at that point no one understands.....but the fault is still Joe's.

Harpy will be around I'm sure to wish you something or another......I know you think she's a pain because she's never satisfied with the changes you make around here, but then again she's a nice counterpoint to all the snivelling toadies who sing your praises. Really, it's her only virtue as she lost the rest of her virtue many years ago to blind hat-blocker from Schenectady.
