Don't get me wrong RW, if they ran out of bitter and that's all there was, I'd soon be drinking brown ale. In fact, for a bitter drinker, Newcastle Amber (pale ale) was the better choice - not too bad actually. But the students didn't popularise it like they did the broon, probably not sweet enough for them.
