I finally decided to go visit and deliver a card from folks at work. The card (and stuff in it) is there, but Tom had had whatever that procedure involving plumbing was, and they'd shot him up with mucho drugs so he was just lying there with his eyes closed and mouth open. I figured he might not get the most out of a visit, not being awake and all, so I came home.
