I have a friend whose husband is from India. Many years ago, he was up here and Ocelittle, my splendidly evil feline decided to harass him. He spoke to her in Tamil. She sat down on the sofa, tucked her paws under her and was a nice cat for the rest of the evening. Apparently Tamil has that effect on animals. I'm not sure, keeping that in mind, whether you want welcome in Tamil or not.
