Thread Name: Need an Accordion for Kenya
Subject: RE: Need an Accordion for Kenya
Hi there to all my old friends and new. I'm sitting here smiling, forgotten how appealing this Mudcat thing is! Sam told me there has been stuff going on about Africa so thought I would say Hello to you all. It is great that you are getting Sam fixed up with an accordion to take over with us when we go in September. The last one was really well-received and played to many people - both in schools and in the church every Sunday! They love to sing and dance and the accordion certainly gets things moving!!
It is interesting to see how Allan C has somehow found a write-up of a talk I gave to a church group in Royston. It still amazes me, the power of these machines! That write-up sort of sumarises what this Africa thing is about. None of it was planned, as each door opened I sort of stepped through - so many people around me have wanted to help I've simply channelled it across to Kenya to the people who so much need a bit of help. Every single penny goes direct to the Sengwer tribe members - anyone who know Africa will know how amazing that is, money just kind of disappears out there.
So - my good wishes to you all. It is good to see that Mudcat is still thriving, a wonderful forum! When Sam toured USA - I think about 4 years ago - that was the first time I had ever been on line - I have very fond memories of many encouraging messages and lots of news about how he was getting on with each group of Mudcatters he was staying with. A global family eh? Good wishes to all - keep Catting!
