I went up onto Alderley Edge in Cheshre, NW England at 05:25 in good time to greet the sunrise at 05:37. I met up with my mum who was playing for Chorlton Green Morris, a fine bunch of ladies who meet to dance on the Edge every Mayday morning at sunrise.

I was pleased to see a couple of Manchester Morris on the Edge, one played whilst t'other danced a single jig. The wife (?) of one of the Manchester men was there too, they toasted the sunrise with champagne.....Manchester Morris always were a cut above the rest!

I played a couple of tunes, drank a toast to the Summer, then sang Hal an Tow.
