What a fantastic weekend. Made new friends, met old friends and played good music. I just wish that I could remember the words to all the songs that were rattling round in my head when I went to sleep last night.

One or two surreal moments:
– driving round Hull - in what was supposed to be a convoy, having lost the people in front and the people behind - in search of jOh9n's curry shop that we didn't know the name of, only to find it closed.
The other was, having read so much about whelks in the thread, Oaklet arrived with a tray full which he handed round to one and all. First time I had tasted whelks – not bad, but I prefer cockles.

Many thanks to Skipjack for organising the event and Eric the Viking for assisting him, and to Les from Hull for a superb cultural tour.

I won't steal Skipjack's thunder by revealing where next year's Eurogathering is going to be, but I told the wife and she said I can go. Yippee!
