Subject: Review: Listening to anything great?
Last time I did this thread most people enjoyed it, but there were a few who resented the whole idea, calling it useless basically. I'm just wondering if anyone is listening to any music currently that is inspiring them and why. So, please if your moral compass is offended by such nonsense, just don't respond. I'll begin:

- Norman Blake "Morning Glory Ramblers" - Great old time songs plays with his usual heart and soul with wife nancy. Every album is a treasure.

- Jolie Holland "Escondida" - This lady is one hell of a vocal stylist! I like her phrasing and musical arrangments as well. A new talent! Played with the Be Good Tanyas at the beginning as well.

- Garcia/Grisman "Been All Around this World" - Man, just another incredible collection of their musical relationship. A mix of traditionals, a James Brown song, a George Jones tune, and a great Frankie Lee & Judas Priest with a perfect Basement Tapes-era "Luke the Drifteresque" Dylan imitation.

- Lightnin', Sonny & Brownie "Blues Hoot" - I finally found this on cd. A priceless collection recorded in '62 at the Ash Grove (I think).
