I'd like to go back about 35 years and listen to the songs my grandparents sang.... maybe this time, I'd get them to write them down. It's wierd, but every so often I get a phrase stuck in my head in my granfers' voice but can never find which song it comes from.

He was a farmer in a small village on the coast, so sang a mixture of traditional 'lover', fishing songs and several that were peculiar to the county. I'd also ask my grandmother about the Garland Day celebrations every May, which were very strong in 1920 (when she was 11) but were practically gone 60 years later.
