Hi Philippa, if you learnt the "ring-tong, dilly-dong, kyro me" version of "Daddy Fox" at school and it was pre the 1960s, then that PROBABLY points to a more "trad" origin ... If not, then the Ripley Wayfarers are still in the frame!!
