or because of the classic "damned if you do, damned if you don't" dilemma of modern men trying to find the proper balance between sexy machismo and endearing sweetness, on behalf of us hard-to-please ladies?

i think the song is funny because it highlights the earnestness of good hearted guys bucking the masculine gender roles, and doing it more thoroughly than some good hearted gals. it's like the modern woman who wouldn't DREAM of letting a man kill a spider for her. she'll kill her own damn spider, thank you very much, and she'll change her oil and clean out the trap under the bathroom sink while she's at it, and you'll hear nary an "eww" or an "eek".

someone should write a song about that. i'll let you know if it makes me nervous.
