In Oregon State, down in Josephine County,
There's dark deeds a-doing in Justice's name
There's illegal entry and warrants are missing
And trusted peacekeepers should be burning with shame

There can't be a thief when nothing was stolen
You can't be a lawman by breaking the law
Come clean and confess to your cruel mistreatment
And take a deep breath and your charges withdraw.

While a hen who had never been evil or cruel
A fowl sweet of nature and friendly to all
Was wantonly slain by young Adam S Abbey
For kicks or for simply no reason at all.

A man who stole nothing is labelled a robber
And the Josephine Sheriff is still in denial
And a killer walks free with no stain, but the County
Continues to press for a meaningless trial
