My first, Joanna, was stillborn at full term. That was 20 years ago, and time has yet to heal or make the memory distant. I've never been able to write a song about it, but my garden is her garden.
Nevertheless, despite the pain, there have been many important things learned...including the preciousness of my other children, of time, of friendships, of beauty. And there is the strength of hope and courage that comes from endurance.

And there is an unspeakable understanding between people who have gone through similar experiences.
