The Iraq prisoner abuse scandal is about the US violations of it's own military criminal code of justice and the Geneva Conventions. It has to do with the rule of US law and the international treaties to which it is a signatory. It has to do with the US government's abrogration of it's responsibilities and duties as the world's leading democracy and upholder of the rule of just laws, and the requirement that we hold ourselves to the same standards we demand of all other countries.
