Up early this morning Strollin'.
Jane will be singing next week at Market Rasen. I agree with you entirely that Jane has a very nice voice and that is why I asked her to play at Market Rasen.
Can't agree with you about your inference to Lucy. It's not about belly buttons, it's about pure talent. She has a wonderful voice and is going far together with Paul. Her voice speaks for itself.
Now lets talk about you then. You are a very talented, have a lovely voice and I like many others, could listen to you alnight. If I went on looks, you woudn't be playing at Market Rasen and I woudn't be running the club. :-) I still need photo's and profile from you in order to let people know who you are. If people don't know who you are, they are not going to get off their arses to listen to you.
Need the same for Stitherum.
My policy about youngsters is that unless you give them a break and encourage them into the folk clubs, then in 20 years time Folk Clubs won't exist, because all the artist's will be dead. I think it is called inclusion. Something Gainsborough is very good at(Lucy and Paul). They like Gainsborough becuase of its freindly atatitude and inclusion.
Wouldn't it be nice if every good Folk Artist had to take a young group under their wings and help them along the yellow brick road.
Both my daughters who are almost 9 and 13 have never been exposed to folk music until I started Market Rasen 2 months ago. They are now very enthusiastic and want to go to each event. At Moor and Coast, they went to the Ceiledh night and my 13 year old is now hooked on the dancing. My older daughter was very dissapointed last night, because I coudn't bring her along to Gainsborough Folk Club. Pub rules I believe. That doesn't help get them in at an early age. Woudn't it be nice if every parent that goes to Folk Clubs, is forced to bring their children, so they get to know what Folk Music is about at a young age.
There you go, that's started the morning off well. :-)
Gonna have me breakfast now. Grilled Rabbit Slice with eggs and tomatoes. :-)
