Best by far, I thought, was the German entry: *classy* laid-back, jazzy music, and they were actually playing (unlike most of the acts!)They put all the rest of the entries in the shade.

I thought it was worth watching just to see those amazing "continuity announcers". Like a few others who have posted, I have always loved the Eurovision Song Contest, going right back to the days of Katie Boyle and Pearl Carr & Teddy Johnson. It's what got me hooked on foreign languages from the age of four. I agree: it was far better when everyone had to sing in their own native language. Long may the contest continue !
