In the many debates about the meaning of folk music, Mudcatters divide pretty much in half: between those who go for the old definition(oral/collective/communal function etc), and the revisionists who like to let in modern singer song-writers (culminating in the small handful of "all music is folk music" horse-people).
But strangely, not a lot of the more inclusive Mudcatters eem anxious to claim Eurovision songs as the new folk. Now, why would this be?
