Subject: RE: BS: Eurovision Contest
I enjoyed it - the crappy bits were so crappy they were good! And I think there were more gems than usual. I wanted Turkey to win - First time I had seen a political (anti-war) protest on the Eurovision - Even it it was just the lead singer shouting 'Peace' and flashing the CND symbols on the inside of his Jacket. Nice to see that punk has finaly caught on in Turkey as well:-)

The French bald woman on stilts was very odd. Some of the songs, particulary the Balkan ones, did have an odd 'folksy' feel about them. And since when did Bill Wheelan start writing for the Turkish interval act? Presumably since Turkish dancing became stangely akin too Irish...

Eating and drinking my way round Europe helped as well. Chorizo for Spain, Guiness for Ireland, Kabanos for Poland, a good Balkan Merlot for the old friends club etc. etc. Must get better organised for next year and get the 'true spirit' of each country as well;-0

Cheers
