She froze, staring into the light
Thinking the eyes unseen could see
The apprehension inside. Night
Seemed so secure: Darkness would be
Welcome, to hide within. How might
She in this brightness hope to flee
Back to the shadows? Time stands still:
A moment that the tensions fill.
