I liked Birdy too, especially the ending.

Others I can think of at the moment include

Pontiac Moon - Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen
The Ruling Class and High Spirits - both Peter O'Toole
The Neon Ceiling - Lee Grant
The Bedsitting Room - Spike Milligan and Peter Cook
The Last Wave - Richard Chamberlain (one of my favourites)
Phenomenon - John Travolta
What Dreams May Come - Robin Williams (and just about anything else with Robin Williams)
Carry On Regardless - Sid James and the Carry On crew
The Van - Colm Meaney
I Ought to be in Pictures - Walter Matthau
The Man with Two Brains and A Simple Twist of Fate - both Steve Martin
Wake in Fright and The Cars that Ate Paris - both Aussie thrillers
Mon Oncle - Jacques Tati
Heart and Souls - Robert Downey Jr, Kyra Sedgwick
The Swimmer - Burt Lancaster
Journey to The Center of the Earth - Pat Boone, James Mason
The Time Machine - Rod Taylor
Silent Running - Bruce Dern

and this is only the beginning. I keep thinking of more, but I have to stop somewhere. I have most of these, plus hundreds of others, on video - and a video recorder that is not working. I'd like to get my movies onto a better medium, but not sure how to go about it - I suspect it could be expensive and time consuming.
