Don't forget various jellyfish, sea snakes, scorpions, assorted spiders, and suchlike critters.

Mountain lions will bring you down if you run, or bicycle. They think you're prey. To my mind this is not always A Bad Thing. Then again, I kinda like Felix Concolor.

MOST black bears will leave. MOST grizzlies will leave. MOST who don't leave will only feint. There is that 1% in both species who didn't get The Word, however. Jumping naked over a cliff into blackberries or a lake is embarassing, but an excellent solution if you've met one of the Uninformed.
