Well, Dave, it's arbitrary, and I suppose I'm the one most guilty of arbitrariness. If your football thread generates some songs, then it can go back up top.
We decided to leave tech stuff up top because we did. Some of the tech stuff has to do with Mudcat, and some does not. We didn't want to bother differentiating.
With obits, they start up top, and then go down below if they don't end up having music information. I had been putting Mudcatter obits down below if they had sympathy and no music, but the other Mudcat Troika members outvoted me on that one and I have repented and reformed.
It's a really nice thing that you Brits have some music with your sports (other than the Star-Spangled Banner), but I have to say that my sympathy is limited. In the future, even though it may pain you to do so, could I ask you to put a BS tag on your football threads unless you intend to have them discuss football music?
