In the facility where I once worked, lead pigs were used in some way. When that facility closed, they tossed out the pigs (stupid, salvage pays well for them). I copped several, still used by my son to add weight to the rear end of his pickup in snow-ice conditions. These pigs weigh some 70 pounds (not sure of exact weight, too long ago). They take much less room than bags of sand.
