And if the parody of the ND Victory March ain't folk, what is? It was composed by students (way, way, back -- I heard it in grade school) and used to annoy the Powers That Be. In the '80s the student body at Notre Dame used it as a protest song (about no alcoholic beverages on campus). It's irreverent, and isn't condoned by the school.
Even the original was written by a student, but it's been "official" since about 1908.
