One of my fondest memories is from many years ago when the Goole based Barleycorn Band started off doing pub gigs - they provided a relaxing evening of songs and tunes, mostly traditional. When they came to our neighbouring village pub, we went along. (Among the lineup were Graham Pirt and his two lads!) When they started into the Cockersdale songs, I was ecstatic. As they began "Bring Us A Barrel" I flashed the Cockersdale T shirt I was wearing under my sweater, and was invited to come and join in for the chorus. I consider this a great compliment, as my singing isn't of the best, but then Graham's nice like that!
