I sing to Harry (our cat) various ad hoc verses starting with

      Hush, little kitty, don't be absurd,
      Poppa's gonna feed you a mockingbird.

      If that mockingbird tastes bad,
      Poppa's gonna feed you a pickled shad.

etc. (whatever comes to mind)
