I really sympathize. Other than losing companionship, it's awful to lose your regular dance partner. I did ballroom & high-level round dancing w/ a man for 6 years. After we parted, it hurt me for years (& still does, when I hear certain songs. It's not the end of the world, but it's sure no fun! Let's all the girls get together for a good hug!
