In the song posted above by Jim, the 'Next week sometime, but no not now' line dates back at least to the Allen Brothers recording 'Maybe next week sometime' in 1930. Meade's earliest printed reference is #243 in the Gordon Ms (contributed Sept 1923) - song texts sent to Robert Winslow Gordon when he was editor of the 'Adventure' magazine column 'Old Songs That Men Have Sung' between 1923 and 1927.
