El Greko, it was a play on words. A pun. People who complain can be said to be "carping." She was fishing around for information, and I took her question and coupled it with the rude response and turned them into a witty little verbal riposte to Gargoyle's (and possibly Blackcatter's) complaints. Carp singular or plural is carp. That about beats that pun to death!
