You're right though. The Pacific Northwest folk scene in the 50's and 60's would not be very interesting to me. How could it even remotely stack up to Washington Square in NY or the Gate of Horn days in Chicago. I do believe Utah Philips came from there though, unless he came from Utah as his name implies which I don't consider the Pacific Northwest, as it it isn't on the Pacific coast.

Do you think the folk scene in the Pacific Northwest was as exciting as major league baseball was there in the 50s-60s?
