Once upon a time there was a poor woodcutter named BillD. Bill D, his wife Rapairetta, and his two children Handsoff and Gretify were starving. A neighbour Amos gave them some intellectual food but Handsoff and Gretify wanted the real thing, so the goat ate the food. Their mother Rapairetta angrily sent them out and told them not to return until they have collected something sensible and edible, like berries. Handsoff and Gretify went to the woods where they come upon the kindly Catspaw who lived in a cottage made of waffle and maple syrup. She invited them to stay for a meal, but then quickly locked them up and started fattening them up with the intention of eating them spread on waffles.

Little hawk and brucie were passing by, singing a little canadian ditty about waffles. They could see maple syrup pouring from the nearby maple trees, and wandered into a little glen, where they stubled across the little house made of waffles.

Help! help! cried Handsoff and Gretify, we have been captured by the wicked Catspaw. They quickly explained their story to the previously unbelieving brucie and Little hawk, who listened patiently. Thanks, Handsoff and Gretify, said LH, we have been looking for that goat for some months now. And they raced off in the direction of the goat, leaving Handsoff and Gretify wondering how they would get away from the terrible smell in the Waffle House, which was sometimes just too much to bear....
