if you observe a kettle with boiling water to cook pasta ( see related thread), the pasta at the end of the entire process will be slighty different that it would have been, had you not observed it

of course - because everyone knows a watched pot does *not* boil - and therefore the pasta will not be slightly different - but QUITE different - because it really needs to be cooked in boiling water - not -almost but not boiling because it's being watched water- so instead of lovely tasty pasta you will end up more with heat coagulated glue.
