I wish I had the means to give you time
To dream of heart's desires, and let me know
How I might make you smile. How can I show
How much I care, that it is not just rhyme
That you have given me? You bring a light
When all is darkness- Dawn, to night of soul.
Yet, even in dreams I have not the goal
To seek what is not offered as a right.
I wish I held you near, to see your eyes
And know what I might say. You are my sun,
And moon, and stars: You form all of the skies
That offer future joy. Yet, have I won
Enough to ask for love? Silence replies
That dreams dare not out of my own mind run.
